New Zealand Surf Introduction
Surf New Zealand
surfing - one of the worlds exciting surfing destinations.
Kiwis are passionate about surfing as 6,000 kms of exposed coastline
has countless easily accessible point, reef and sand bars. New Zealands
unique shape means that you can easily get across from one coast
to the other. So wherever you are in the country theres bound
to be an excellent break nearby. A glance at the local weather situation
will tell you which coast has the right swell and wind direction
.
The New Zealand coast can be surfed year round. The North Island
has warm temperatures in summer about December-March and wet suits
are not usually needed. The South Island waters are colder and generally
call for wetsuit protection
The choice of surf breaks is simply huge - from clean barrels peeling
onto pure white sandy beaches on the east coast, to gnarly freight
train sets pounding rugged west coast beaches. Check out supertubes
with one kilometre long joy rides at Ahipara and the consistently
perfect peelers at our Best surf spot, Raglan. Experience Big Waves
that are long board at Murderers Bay in Dunedin, as well as
clean tubes at Gisborne.

culture and friendliness
