Konini Lodge Egmont National Park
Konini Lodge, situated near Dawson Falls, offers bunkroom type accommodation for up to 38 people. It is ideal for large groups seeking budget accommodation yet also suitable for smaller groups. Konini Lodge is now also functional as a day venue for meetings and seminars with large living areas and use of kitchen facilities. The Lodge is a Lockwood structure, located in a tranquil native bush setting. Close by are most beautiful bush walks, river settings and spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. Information is available most days at the Visitor Centre and Department staff are available to give groups a talk and guided walk by arrangement.

Egmont National Park has a variety of tramping opportunities. Visitors can also enjoy the scenery, walk, climb, ski, take photographs and picnic.
Dawson Falls is a popular visitor attraction. Short walks from Dawson Falls include:

Those wishing to tramp or climb in the Park should buy an Egmont National Park Map (Infomap 273-09). Also of use are the NZMS 260 series of topographic maps.
Weather and Safety Egmont National Park is subject to very high rainfall and sudden dramatic weather changes. Anyone going for more than a short walk should carry protective clothing, whatever the season. This includes woollen hat, boots, wind and waterproof parka and overtrousers. When tramping keep some dry clothes for the end of the day.
